We sanded the mango wood and gave it a sealer coating for the protection of water stains. The coating gives a natural look to the wood, instead of making the color dark or yellowish we kept it as
original as possible.

Maintenance:
-Wipe down periodically with a slightly damp or dry dust cloth that contains no heavy stitching, in order to avoid scratches.
-Avoid all cleaning tools with a rough surface.
-Avoid polish or cleaning products containing silicone, which can dry out natural wood over time.
-Do not use detergents or any cleaning products that contain ammonia.
-Rub wax into the wood to create a beautiful shine and a natural protective finish. It also prevents the wood from drying out.
-Mineral oil can be applied using a cloth. This will build up over time to produce a protective surface.

Scandi Collection

Apart from dusting the table, no real maintenance is required. The glass can be cleaned with a soft microfiber cloth.

Travertin Collection
Travertine is a sedimentary rock formed by calcium carbonate minerals from fresh water, typically in springs, rivers, and lakes. The word ‘travertine’ is derived from the Italian travertino, itself a derivation of the Latin tiburtinus meaning ‘of Tibur’, now known as Tivoli, near Rome, Italy. Travertine is often used as a building material. It typically lacks planes of weakness, and its high porosity makes it light in weight for its strength, gives it good thermal and acoustic insulating properties, and makes it relatively easy to work. Dense travertine makes excellent decorative stone when polished. The Colosseum is the oldest and largest work ever made in Roman travertine. Also known as the Flavius Amphitheater, it housed the games of ancient Rome, such as the fights between gladiators.

Materials

As it is a porous stone, it is offered in two variants – filled and unfilled. The filled ones are smoother, more durable, and have a more modern look compared to the natural porous ones. The finishing is also important as it highlights one or another quality of this excellent material. There are usually four types of finishes that are applied to travertine – honed, polished, brushed, and tumbled. Polished travertine is bright and shiny and very smooth. It will reflect light in amazing way and sometimes it is even mistaken for marble with this finish. Honed travertine, on the other hand, is the most preferred option. The surface is still polished but not to a glossy bright extent but left matt. This type of finish is closer to the natural look of the stone. We buy big lots of old and used folding tables from all over India. In our factory in India, we restore the tables ourselves. Old broken planks are replaced with planks from another table. This collection is made from a special type of hardwood: mango wood from India. This type of wood is really sustainable because it’s a byproduct of an already thriving industry: mango fruit. The trees grow on a large scale in India and they mature quickly: in 15 years instead of for instance oaks (50-100 years). The fruit production is good in the first period of the tree. As it grows older, fruit production also decreases. That is why this tree is economically less valuable on the mango plantations. The solution for mango farmers is then: cut down and replant. Because of this way of working, the wood of the mango tree is really sustainable. Forest is not just cut down. After his life as a food producer, the wood gets a second life as a piece of furniture.
