Black mango wood stool/side table
This low stool works well beside an armchair, in the hallway, near a low seating area or in a spot where you need a small table. Use it for a plant, book, vase or small home accessory.
The rectangular top has a worked surface with small height differences. The two angled legs give the stool a sturdy shape. The black finish still shows some of the wood structure.

Material
For this stool, we use mango wood. This strong type of wood often has a clear grain and natural colour differences. Because wood is a natural material, each item varies in colour, pattern and structure.
Mango wood is a by-product of mango cultivation. When mango trees produce fewer fruits after around 15 years, they make room for new planting. The wood then gets a second life as furniture. Small imperfections, knots and colour differences are part of the material.
Maintenance
Wipe the stool with a dry or slightly damp cloth. Avoid harsh cleaning products and do not leave moisture on the wood for too long. Use coasters for glasses, mugs or plant pots.
For our wooden furniture, we use carefully dried wood. Still, wood remains a natural material that reacts to humidity and temperature. Especially during the winter months, wood can move a little more because of indoor heating and reduced ventilation. We recommend keeping indoor humidity between 40% and 60%.
If the humidity is lower, you can use water evaporators or a humidifier. It is also best not to place wooden furniture directly next to a heater, air conditioner or other heat source. Good ventilation remains important after the winter months as well.
Even with careful drying and treatment, small shrinkage cracks can sometimes appear, especially at the end grain or edges of the wood. This is a normal characteristic of solid wood and is usually barely noticeable.
