This foldable bench is inspired by the original folding tables from India. The pieces of furniture carry a rich history of Indian weddings, public gatherings, and festivals. Originally, the folding tables were set up for festive occasions and then folded up and transported to the next location.
The folding tables and benches have been part of our permanent collection for years, cherished by our customers. They are popular for use at events, in restaurants, hotels, or simply at home. They are suitable for both indoor and outdoor use.
Limewash:
Limewash, an ancient technique used for thousands of years, was originally employed as a protective coating for buildings in ancient civilizations like Egypt, Greece, and Rome. Made from slaked lime (calcium hydroxide), limewash provided a breathable and water-resistant barrier that helped prevent damage from moisture and decay. Over time, limewash became popular as a decorative finish due to its natural, chalky appearance and the ability to create various textures and effects.
Today, the limewash finish is fully on-trend, valued for its rustic elegance and touch of old-world charm. The limewash color adds a beautiful whitewashed and natural look to our furniture, perfect for a vintage and distressed appearance that enhances the wood’s natural beauty. Our limewash furniture pieces can be used both indoors and outdoors, depending on the desired appearance and protection. For outdoor use in a warm climate, the wood will naturally develop a weathered grey finish over time. In more humid environments, we recommend applying a sealer for extra water resistance and durability.
Features:
Wood is a natural product, so not all items have the same grain, knots, and color. We finish all tables with limewash, which determines the color of the furniture. We strive for a consistent final result, giving each piece a robust and unique appearance.
Finish:
The wood has been sanded and finished with limewash.
Maintenance:
– Wipe down periodically with a slightly damp or dry dust cloth that contains no heavy stitching, in order to avoid scratches.
– Avoid all cleaning tools with a rough surface.
– Avoid polish or cleaning products containing silicone, as these can dry out natural wood over time.
– Do not use detergents or cleaning products that contain ammonia.
– Rub wax into the wood to create a beautiful shine and a natural protective layer. This also prevents the wood from drying out.
– Mineral oil can be applied using a cloth. Over time, this will build up to produce a protective surface.
