Farmwood Collection by Raw Materials

The Farmwood Collection by Raw Materials features robust furniture crafted from FSC Recycled certified wood. The collection includes dining tables, dining benches and other wooden furniture with a rustic, lived-in character. Reclaimed wooden beams are given a second life while preserving as much of their original appearance as possible. As a result, every piece has its own unique colour, grain and history.

Made from Reclaimed Wooden Beams

The wood used for the Farmwood Collection comes from reclaimed beams taken from old houses. Once the wood has been recovered, skilled craftsmen carefully select each usable beam by hand, paying close attention to its thickness, character and colour. This is a time-consuming process, making reclaimed wood more valuable than newly processed timber.

The wood is then only sanded and brushed, with almost no additional finishing. Knots, cracks, imperfections and other signs of its previous life remain visible, giving every piece of furniture an authentic rustic appearance. These natural characteristics are what make the Farmwood Collection so distinctive.

What Does FSC Recycled Mean?

The Farmwood Collection is made from FSC Recycled certified wood. This certification confirms that the wood is made from verified reclaimed material. In addition, the material is tracked throughout the production and supply chain according to FSC Chain of Custody standards, providing assurance that the reclaimed wood has been responsibly sourced and processed.

We have chosen this certification because using reclaimed wood is an important part of how Raw Materials designs its furniture. By giving existing timber a second life, valuable materials are reused and the demand for newly harvested wood is reduced. At the same time, the independent FSC certification provides additional confidence in the origin of the materials used.

Frequently Asked Questions About the Farmwood Collection

Are cracks and imperfections in the wood normal?

Yes. Knots, small cracks, colour variations and other imperfections are natural characteristics of reclaimed wood. They are not flaws but part of the wood’s history, making every piece of furniture unique.

Will my furniture look exactly like the photos?

No. The product photos provide a good impression of the design and overall appearance, but the colour, grain and natural markings will vary from piece to piece because reclaimed wood is unique.

How do I care for reclaimed wood furniture?

Clean the furniture with a soft, slightly damp cloth and avoid harsh cleaning products. We also recommend using coasters and wiping away moisture as quickly as possible to help preserve the natural beauty of the wood.
