Discover the pendant lights by Raw Materials, made from materials such as rattan, natural rope, teak, terracotta and papier-mâché. Handcrafted Rattan Pendant Lights

Rattan plays an important role in our lighting collection. Many of our rattan pendant lights are handwoven by skilled craftspeople in Indonesia. The open weave allows light to shine through the shade, creating a subtle pattern of light and shadow on the walls and ceiling when the lamp is switched on.

Collections such as Maze, Wave, Luna, Stella and Saturn offer a variety of shapes and sizes. From round and organic designs to drop-shaped and wider lampshades, you can choose a model that suits both the room and the furniture below it. Several designs are also available in natural and black finishes.

Pendant Lights Made from Natural Rope

Alongside rattan, we also use natural rope for a selection of handcrafted pendant lights. The rope is woven into an open structure, allowing the light to filter gently through the shade. Collections such as Corda and Linea are available in different shapes and sizes, making them suitable above a dining table as well as in a living room or spacious hallway.

Because these lamps are made by hand, small differences in shape and colour may occur. These variations are part of the natural material and the handcrafted production process, making every lamp slightly different.

Teak Pendant Lights

If you prefer the warmth of wood, our collection also includes pendant lights made from teak. The natural grain remains visible and gives each design its own appearance. The Sirocco pendant lights, for example, come in different shapes and can be used individually or combined in a group.

Teak is a natural material, so each lamp may vary slightly in colour and wood grain. These natural differences make every piece unique.

Terracotta and Papier-Mâché Pendant Lights

The collection also includes pendant lights made from less conventional materials. Our Terra lamps are crafted from terracotta and have a more solid, earthy appearance. The Chalk Collection, on the other hand, is made from a distinctive mixture of old newspapers, ground limestone and natural tree resin.

For the Chalk lamps, old newspapers are first processed into pulp. This is then mixed with limestone and natural resin before the final lamp shape is finished by hand. In this way, unexpected materials are given a new purpose within the interior.

A Pendant Light Above the Dining Table

When choosing a pendant light for above the dining table, consider both the size of the table and the proportions of the room. For a single round pendant, the width of the table is often a better starting point than its length. As a general guideline, a lamp with a diameter of around half to two thirds of the table width usually creates a balanced look.

For example, above a dining table that is 90 cm wide, a pendant light of approximately 45 to 60 cm in diameter often works well. Prefer a larger statement lamp? An oversized rattan pendant can also work beautifully because the open weave makes it appear visually lighter than a solid shade of the same size.
