Teak Dining Chairs with Rattan, Leather and Fabric
Teak forms the basis of several chairs in our collection. This strong wood is known for its warm, natural appearance and distinctive grain. Within the Nova Collection, teak is combined with handwoven rattan, while the Freya Collection includes designs with leather or upholstered seats.
Combining wood with softer and woven materials gives each chair a different look and feel. Rattan adds a light and natural touch, while leather develops more character over time. Fabric, on the other hand, brings extra softness and comfort. In addition, natural variations in colour and wood grain mean that every wooden chair can be slightly different.
Leather and Iron Dining Chairs
Not every dining chair in our collection is made entirely from wood. The handcrafted chairs by Sol Y Luna, for example, combine vegetable-tanned leather with an iron frame. This creates a distinctive look while maintaining the natural and authentic feel that runs throughout the Raw Materials collection.
Iron also plays an important role in our Factory Collection. These chairs combine a metal frame with FSC Recycled certified wood. Because the reclaimed wood has already had a previous life, variations in colour, texture and visible signs of use may remain part of the finished design.
Dining Chairs Made from FSC Recycled Wood
Several of our dining chairs are made from FSC Recycled certified wood. Existing timber is reclaimed and transformed into new furniture, giving valuable materials a second life instead of using newly harvested wood.
The FSC Recycled certification confirms that the recycled material has been checked according to FSC requirements throughout the supply chain. Original wood structures, colour variations and traces of previous use may remain visible and are part of the natural appearance of the reclaimed material.
Outdoor Dining Chairs
Our collection also includes dining chairs for terraces and gardens. For these designs, we use materials suitable for outdoor living, including FSC Recycled teak combined with rope and synthetic rattan on metal frames. This makes it possible to continue the same calm, natural look from your interior into your outdoor space.
Not every dining chair is suitable for outdoor use, so always check the individual product information before placing a chair outside. Natural materials such as teak can also change colour when exposed to sunlight and weather conditions. Untreated teak, for example, will gradually develop a natural grey patina over time.
How much space should I leave between dining chairs?
Allow enough room for everyone to sit comfortably and move their chair backwards. Consider not only the width of the chair, but also whether it has armrests. Dining chairs with armrests generally require a little more space around the table than models without armrests.
Will a dining chair with armrests fit under my table?
Measure the distance from the floor to the underside of the tabletop and compare this with the height of the chair’s armrests. Also take any frame, apron or supporting beams underneath the tabletop into account. This will help you determine whether the chair can slide fully underneath the table.
Can I combine different dining chairs around one table?
Yes. Mixing different dining chairs can create a relaxed and personal dining area. You could use the same material or colour as a connecting element, or combine chairs with and without armrests from the same collection.
